ABOUT

The CNRS, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (National Centre of Scientific Research) is the largest public research organization in France, with around 1,100 services and/or research units throughout the country. As a multidisciplinary institution, it covers all fields of scientific research, driving various programs and actions designed to address society and industry expectations. The specific team (https://www.lirmm.fr/ganesh-gowrishankar/) involved in AI4CCAM is based at the Laboratoire d’Informatique, de Robotique et de Microelectronique de Montpellier (LIRMM) in Montpellier and specialize in the investigation of human interactions around and with machines.

ROLE IN AI4CCAM

CNRS will utilize neuroscientific experiments to analyze and develop behavioral models of VRU behaviors in the vicinity of automated vehicles. These will be integrated with AI based techniques developed by other partners to enable improved hybrid models to predict VRU behaviors and that are more trustworthy.
